Eggs obviously come in a close second with their tremendous nutritious value. Waffle Shack can serve eggs almost any way you want them including: Sunny Side Up, Over Easy, Over Medium, and Scrambled. We will also be offering hard boiled eggs with our continental breakfast.


Ham is the most popular breakfast meat. We provide chopped Ham in our Ham and Cheese Omeletes, as well as a meat side for eggs. Waffle Shack also serves bacon slices and or sausage links or paddys to go with your omeletes or eggs and toast.


Waffles are another popular breakfast item. Waffle Shack carries build your own waffles where you can add a choice of spread such as Nutella or Whipped Cream. You then can add any kinds of toppings including fruits or the several candies and chocolates. Finally top it off with various kinds of syrups including: chocolate, strawberry, caramel, and of course maple.


Omeletes are another popular breakfast item. Waffle Shack carries several kinds of omeletes with various meats, vegetables, and topped with cheese. Waffle Shack also includes buttered toast with your choice of jelly.

    Frozen fruit: berries, mixed fruit, fruit with kale bits, whatever. Fruit is frozen at the peak of freshness, so the quality and vitamin content can be better than what’s in the produce aisle. We buy large bags of frozen mixed berries at the wholesale club or discount grocery, as they are much more economical than fresh and don’t go bad.

What foods make a nutritious breakfast?


For the most nutritious breakfast, try to choose whole, unprocessed foods from each of the five food groups: fruits, vegetables, grains, protein foods, and dairy. Try to include proteins from foods like yogurts (look for varieties with less sugar added), eggs, nuts and seeds or legumes. Also try to include complex carbohydrates such as whole fruits and vegetables, and whole grains (i.e. oatmeal) that provide fiber and will help you feel full longer.


Why Should I Eat Breakfast?


Breakfast is important for several reasons. Eating a meal in the morning provides necessary fuel for your body and brain. It can also help regulate hunger, reducing the urge to snack throughout the day. For children, eating breakfast has been positively associated with academic performance, as well as a decreased risk of obesity.


“Research shows that people who eat breakfast tend to have a healthier body mass index (the relationship between your height and weight) and lower rates of obesity, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes than people who skip it,” says Marie-Pierre St-Onge, Ph.D., associate professor of nutritional medicine at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Eating a morning meal is also linked with improved cognitive function.


What are the types of Breakfast?


Continental breakfast; is a light breakfast which may include varoius types of coffee, teas, juices, fruits and all kinds of pastries. This is the lightest type of braeakfast and is usually very cheap if you are buying it. It is the total opposite of an English Breakfast.


English Breakfast; Is an extremely big meal. A traditional english breakfast would include- sausages, eggs, tomatoes. But now, many people have somewhat shied away from the tradition and have resorted to having milk and cereal, or toast and marmalade, jam or honey. Orange juice is traditionally drunk before the breakfast and coffe is drunk after it.


French Breakfast; Usually includes baguettes with jam or butter and sometimes warm/cold crossaints. The usual drink would be a cup of hot black coffee but tea or hot chocolate can also be drunk. The french breakfast is very light and therefore referred to as 'petit' in France. But recently more and more children in France are starting to eat cereals which is a dramtic difference to the traditional french breakfast diet.


American Breakfast; Is very simular to the English breakfast and is very big and filling. It usually consists of two eggs, sliced bacon or sausage, sliced bread or toast with jam/butter, pancakes with syrup, various different cereals including porridge, cornflakes etc, coffee/tea and orange/grapefruit juice.


Chinease Breakfast; Usually consists of a warm bowl of congee, which is a watery rice gruel which is very simular to porrridge and can be eaten with varoius different topping from sweet to savoury. With the congee, they like to eat crullers also known as 'deep-fat devils' which are twisted strips of dough which have been deep fried in oil.
